So here, you go: my unsolicited opinion/credo:

There is a perfect workout regimen trifecta, for all women, in all states of life.

The first: strength training. The second: deep core/pelvic floor training. And the third: moving your body in a way you love. (AKA: dancing, hiking, walking your pup, running marathons, etc.)

No, I’m not here to make you feel guilty, but I am here to sing the praises of weight lifting and give you a bit of motivation to get that pump.

EXERCISE: It’s your meathead era. No, really: it’s time to lift some weights. Your muscle mass declines by 8% every decade starting in your 30s. So, if you’re in your 20s, it’s time to start. If you’re in your 30s, it’s time. If you’re in your 40-80s…it’s time! But, why lift? Well, it prevents osteoporosis, improves the number one longevity indicator and sleep, decreases the chance for diabetes and alzheimer's, increases cardio (forget the machines!) and immunity. Plus, it makes you feel like a BA, gives you freedom from the scale, and compliments any body type. So, what’s the need-to-know? Just three simple steps:

  1. Come up with a plan- either body weight, dumbbells, or weights

  2. Start now
