Plus: My Big Secret, Color Palettes, & the Pope's BFF

Presented by

I have a problem, and I’m admitting it publicly:

I am a habitual furniture mover. I change my living room layouts every month. It’s a sickness, really, or, at least it is to my husband, teens, and any friend visiting at an inopportune time.

It probably has to do with my lack of vision. There are those people out there that have it: the eye. A way to see a room in all it’s potential glory and seating arrangements and traffic flow and available tray to set your drink plus perfectly poised books and coordinating color palettes.

I may not have an eye, but I know a good thing when I see it.

And this is too good. Purple Powder room, here we come. If you live locally, you’ve been warned. 🖌

READING: Chore, no more. We usually start school begging for stories. Chances are, when books are assigned, the delight of reading is drained away. But, it doesn’t have to be that way. Creating a book club culture in your home is a way to bring joy back into books. But how? Sarah Mackenzie at the Read Aloud Revival shows families how to make lasting connections— not to mention all the other benefits— with toddlers and teens in tow. Her book Read Aloud Family has hundreds of reading suggestions. It also gives you a kick in the pants.🥴 Here’s a free masterclass she offers that helps you remember it’s about relationship—not reading level. Reading doesn’t have to be broccoli.

In our home, we can’t get enough of The Seven Silly Readers for younger readers and The Wingfeather Saga for older. Bon appetit!

FASHION: The biggest fashion crime is having a moment: socks with heels. You either love it or hate it. But, socks are so 2023, and they aren’t going anywhere this fall. While these styles are chic, how do you really show them off? Wear sheer socks for a romantic vibe or wear the same color sock as your shoe for a polished look. Ruffles add a touch of sweetness to a clunky shoe. Or, go Grandpa with socks and clogs. Thigh Highs are perfect to pair with a skirt. Still not comfy with the trend? Keep it lowkey by letting your socks peak out of the top of your boots. Go ahead, rock the socks.

HEALTH: Collagen has been on our shelves, feeds, and in our medicine cabinets for awhile now. But is it really worth the hype? Unless it’s sourced from shellish, studies say yes. Collagen can increase muscle mass, increase skin elasticity, prevent joint pain, promote bone density, and strengthen hair and nails. Plus, it’s perfect to add into your kids’ muffins, pancakes, and smoothies for a quick protein boost. My favorite place? My cup of coffee. Sourced well, it’s a Bovine Wonder. If you’re shopping around, here’s a good place to grab your own.*

Collagen is essential for healthy skin, joints, and bones, but most collagen supplements on the market are made from animal byproducts and contain artificial ingredients. At NativePath, they believe in sourcing only the best ingredients for their products, and that’s why they offer a collagen powder that’s truly native—or as close to nature as humanly possible.

By adding collagen powder to your daily routine, you can experience a range of benefits, including improved skin elasticity, joint health, and bone strength. With 18 grams of protein per serving, their collagen powder also supports muscle growth and maintenance, keeping you feeling energized and strong throughout the day.

*Clicking on this link may buy Mrs6am a cup of collagen-spiked coffee and keeps her writing. Cheers. ☕

A Teenage Constitution I can get into.
