In today’s issue:

  • A communion wafer monopoly - the nuns have been squeezed out.

  • Affordable and gorgeous pearl jewelry - your birthday, just because, or put them on your Christmas list.

  • Cookie jars are trending.

  • Astrology is nonsense - but it’s on the rise anyway, and

  • States are fighting Big Pharma.

FASHION: Diamonds may be a girl’s best friend, but pearls are a woman’s soulmate. Pearls are in rn…but, as the world’s “oldest gem,” we know they aren’t going anywhere, either. Just picture your grandma’s pearls on her bureau. Think Audrey Hepburn with a touch of Marilyn Monroe. Pearls have all the feels: classic, feminine, elegant, and trendy.. I’m partial to the pearls by Monica Vinader. They’re gorgeous, real, affordable, and ethically-sourced. First orders are 15% off. This pearl on a textured gold link chain is striking. Bonus: you can buy the pearl separately and put it on a chain you already have. Try these delicate, and fashionable dangles, these mini-pearl studs, and this lush pearl bracelet. The are definitely an investment piece to hand down to your grandbabies! With the amount (of grandbabies) I hope to have, I should start investing now… :)

These are not your auntie’s pearls.

COOKIE JARS: Remember Grandma’s cookie jar? 🥰

It’s time for you to get your own and jump on the cookie jar core trend. Create a cookie jar memory for your kids (or grandkids) with these vintage options. Or, go French chic with this Anthropologie jar or the classic 70-s inspired toadstool. Maybe even more classic — remember those commercials?! A floral is more my style, but this cute cottage design from Target is more budget friendly.

Hazy Mae and SAKS Fifth Avenue got in on the action - they’re amazing, but who can afford an $800 cookie jar?! 💸

ASTROLOGY: The stars 💫 and planets 🪐 do not control your destiny — clearly. As Carl Sagan hilariously wrote: an “obese obstetrician standing next to a delivering mother exerts more gravitational force on the newborn than the entire planet of Jupiter.” 😂 Scientists have tested astrology and proven it’s a hoax — including tests by a former astrologist and by India’s foremost astrophysicist. It’s an abuse of astronomy, and can lead to “irrational decisions, postponement of necessary action” and harmful action. Plus, to Christians, it’s sinful and dangerous.

So why is astrology on the rise? It’s everywhere, especially among young women. We think it’s because they’re looking for certitude and meaning, but they’re looking for it in the wrong place. Instead, they need prayer, virtue, and discernment with God’s help — not reliance on the position of stars and planets.

  • Nuns have been squeezed out of the communion wafer-making business. Instead of small-scale operations at convents, now almost every wafer comes from the for-profit Cavanagh Company. Watch this video breakdown.

  • It’s National Beer Day, thanks to the Cullen-Harrison Act! Upon signing the law, President Franklin D. Roosevelt remarked, “I think this would be a good time for a beer.” 🍻 Buy a sixer and sit outside with your hubby today. 🥳

  • It’s hard to find an unbiased article, but states are fighting back and are protecting children from Big Pharma. 💪 How can a 12 year old give informed consent to irreversible treatment?!

  • For the first time, NASA is sending a woman to the moon! 🌛 Maybe one of your daughters will be the first to Mars.

  • Trader Joe’s no-no’s.

“I recommend you keep your business your business — particularly regarding your marriage. Sharing too much invites unwanted opinions, generates gossip, and can damage intimacy between you and your bride. Instead, maintain the secrecy and intimacy of your marriage and keep private matters private.” - Mr6am

Talk to you Wednesday, ladies!
