đŸŽ¶ It's the Most Rage-ful Time of the (Hormonal) YearđŸŽ¶

In partnership with

Ever felt like you’ve blindsided a new pregnant mommy?

We’ve all done it.

You, basking in her pregnant glory, tell her all the amazing things about pregnancy and your own empowering birth. But you forget leave out the details of the rawness of labor. The feeling of being hit by a truck. The inevitable emotional plummet on day 5

It’s difficult when those pregnant mommies are so optimistic. Who wants to pop their bubble?

But, Knowledge = Power in all things hormones, so let’s not keep mum. I’m not going through it yet, but Perimenopause is like winter—it’s coming. Here’s what you need to know about the rage that comes with it. Let’s not be caught without the snow shovel to dig ourselves out.

We’re seeing red today, in all things:

  • Health: Girls of Wrath.

  • Fashion: Red Hot trends đŸ”„

  • Gift-Giving: Don’t get Mad at your Hubbie (just send him this list)

  • Virtue: Battling Anger with Meekness

HEALTH: Rage against Old Age. If you’ve ever felt completely out of control during your cycle- with mood swings, anger, and irritability- it might be perimenopausal rage. Hormone shifts occur—even in your 30s—to prep your body for menopause. As estrogen drops, serotonin drops, too. Until they level out, you’re riding the rollercoaster of hot flashes, sleepless nights, and extreme irritability. But, get this— this extreme PMS is at it’s highest level before you hit menopause. So, what’s a woman to do? First, arm yourself with knowledge. Second, prep now, with a solid exercise regimen you love and eating to control your blood sugar. Third, talk to someone older and wiser than you.

If you’ve made it through to the other side, hit “reply” and tell us your secrets. We need your wisdom! 😘

VIRTUE: “I will never yell at my kid.” You’ve heard it from other people and said it yourself. And while the sentiment is not lost, it makes one believe anger isn’t healthy. So, how do we discipline from a place of freedom? We do it like all things: without fear and with Help. This is a must-listen on how to deal with the little angry people in your home, a must-read for those struggling with it themselves, and a must-pray saint’s wisdom on anger’s antidote.

FASHION: It doesn’t have to be Firetruck Red to make people stop in the street. 🚹 Red is this season’s favorite shade: classy, striking, and, well, on brand for December. Red not your color? Ruby, Bordeaux, Tomato, and Wine are all shades that will still keep you on trend for holiday parties. Here’s how to wear red this season. Our favorites? Try out a LRD for a date night, or the shirt dress (with pleats! 😍) for church. A pleated skirt goes with sneakers and heels, and these trousers are on fire and on sale. Monochromatic or tonal never gets old, IMO. Not confident about the all-red look? Try a statement purse or shoes.

Oh, and here’s Christmas Party Dress you’ve been looking for.

GIFT GIVING: You’ve gotten everyone else’s lists, but what about your own? Chances are, you’re all gifted out. No need to pout. We know you’re on the good list this year. Forward this to your hubby or mom.

*Clicking on this ad is like buying Mrs6am a quarter cup of coffee. Just like caffiene, a little goes a long way. Thank you!

Tried and true, this meal is like a good playlist: Set on repeat and enjoy!

For Starters: Pomegranate Brie Pistachio Phyllo Cups on a charcuterie board paired with a Cinnamon Rosemary Old Fashioned

For Dinner: Serve this Creamy Paleo Sun-Dried Tomato crowd pleaser (Not a paradox, I promise!) with some crunchy bread and a fresh fig salad

For Dessert: These Pavlovas would look extra Christmas-y with a garnish of mint. GF, and could be DF if you omit the cream.

“Men need good, holy friendships. Friendship is built through effort, vulnerability, and time. Some inconvenience has to be accepted. An hour in traffic to meet a friend for good company. Picking up a friend at the airport rather than them getting an Uber. Assisting with a home renovation project or yard work. Offering to watch their children so they can get a date with their wife.” - Mr6am

Thank you to all our new subscribers! Please spread the cheer and pass this on to your friends and family.
